New Series... Playing
the Hammond B-3
The B-3's role in a working band is different than that of any other keyboard instrument. In this video, Bill Brown shows us things every working Hammond player should know. Joined by Fabulous Thunderbirds guitarist Kid Ramos and the hard grooving rhythm section of Terry Morresette on drums and Nick Moss on bass, Bill jams hard on some up-tempo blues, showing his approach to playing the B-3 in a band setting. Following his performance, Bill instructs us by explaining and demonstrating what he did on the tune, and why he did it the context of tune being played and the what the other players were doing. Bill's demonstration is detailed and very understandable, showing us real world Hammond techniques; important knowledge for any developing player.
