Solid State Relay: for totally silent, highly reliable Leslie speed changes. Do you hear a "snap" or "pop" when switching speeds on your Leslie? Has your Leslie ever failed to change speeds? These problems can be solved easily and permanently by replacing your Leslie's stock mechanical relay with a solid state electronic relay. The annoying "snap" you may sometimes hear in the audio when changing speeds is caused by a mechanical relay switch in the Leslie amplifier. The relay switches AC power between the slow and fast motors when changing speeds. Replacing the mechanical relay with a solid state device makes speed changes absolutely silent; a critical need for studio and live recording work. And more, silent switching makes playing your Leslie just a little more pleasant, and isn't that the point? Solid state relays are extremely reliable. In common environmental conditions such as heat, cold, and humidity, electronic switching relays work correctly. And further, solid state relays are far less vulnerable to the bumps, wear and tear of the road than are traditional mechanical relays. One less potential failure to worry about. We offer the Hamptone solid state relay. Designed for 147 and 122 type amplifiers, it's very easy to iunstall.
